Jonathan Reveals Shocking Betrayal During 2015 Election Bid
Former President Goodluck Jonathan has revealed that he suffered betrayal while seeking re-election in 2015, PulseNets learnt.
Goodluck made the disclosure in Benin City, Edo State, during the 70th birthday celebration of Chief Mike Aiyegbeni Oghiadomhe, his long-time ally and political associate.
The former leader praised Oghiadomhe as one of the few loyal friends who consistently stood by him during turbulent times. According to him, politics in Nigeria is deeply rooted in distrust and treachery.
In his words, Jonathan told PulseNets: “Politics in the Nigerian standard is about betrayals. I went through a lot of betrayal during the 2015 election. It is very hard to find someone who says the same thing in the morning, the afternoon and the evening.”
PulseNets obtained records showing that Oghiadomhe served as Chief of Staff under the former president’s administration between 2010 and 2014, a role that placed him at the heart of presidential decision-making.
Jonathan further noted that Oghiadomhe’s unwavering loyalty makes him stand out in a political culture where shifting alliances and broken promises are the norm. He stressed that such dependable friendships are rare in Nigeria’s democracy.
Recently, speculations have intensified over Jonathan’s possible return to the presidential race in 2027 under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP. However, he has yet to confirm the reports.
