“Buy Made-in-Nigeria to Build Our Economy,” Dangote Urges Citizens in Fresh Call for Economic Patriotism
Nigeria’s leading industrialist and President of the Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote, has once again appealed to citizens to patronise made-in-Nigeria products as a means of revitalising the country’s economy and boosting job creation.
In a short video message obtained by PulseNets, the billionaire businessman emphasised that Nigeria’s long-term economic strength depends on the willingness of its people to support homegrown industries.
He stated:
“I want to encourage all Nigerians to buy only made-in-Nigeria products. Each time you choose something produced here at home, you are directly helping to create jobs for our people.”
Dangote, whose conglomerate spans multiple sectors including cement, sugar, salt, and oil refining, noted that the country’s growth and industrial self-reliance hinge on domestic consumption and production synergy.
“The only way for us to become a stronger and more prosperous nation,” he added, “is to patronise what we produce. When we buy made-in-Nigeria, we build our own economy, not another country’s.”
PulseNets learnt that the video was originally shared on social media by former presidential aide, Reno Omokri, who praised Dangote’s unwavering advocacy for economic nationalism and local industrial empowerment.
Over the years, Dangote has remained a vocal supporter of Nigeria’s industrialisation agenda, consistently investing in projects designed to minimise import dependency and enhance local value chains. His conglomerate’s recent ventures—particularly in refining and petrochemicals—are seen as pivotal to positioning Nigeria as a self-sufficient economic powerhouse.
