ADC Bayelsa Elects Johnny Tovie Derek as State Chairman at Peaceful 2026 Congress
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Bayelsa State Chapter has concluded its State Congress with the emergence of a new State Executive Council following what party leaders described as a peaceful and unanimous consensus process.
The congress, held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, saw stakeholders, delegates, and party leaders across Bayelsa State unanimously affirm the emergence of Johnny Tovie Derek as State Chairman, Tonye Omukago as Deputy State Chairman, and Victor Eritei as State Secretary, alongside other elected members of the state executive council.
Information obtained by PulseNets indicated that the affirmation followed extensive consultations and broad-based agreements among party leaders and delegates, a move party faithful said reflected unity, political maturity, and a shared commitment toward strengthening the ADC in Bayelsa State ahead of future political engagements.
