US Knows Those Behind Christian Genocide in Nigeria — Senator Cruz

U.S. Senator Ted Cruz, representing the state of Texas, has revealed that the United States government is fully aware of the individuals orchestrating the ongoing genocide against Christians in Nigeria, pledging to ensure that those responsible are brought to justice.

In a statement obtained by PulseNets from his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, Senator Cruz asserted:

“The United States knows exactly who these people are, and I intend to see that they are held accountable.”

The lawmaker lamented the relentless massacre of Christians and the systematic destruction of churches and schools across Nigeria since 2009, describing it as a “deeply orchestrated campaign” that has been largely ignored by the international community.

According to Cruz, those behind the genocidal attacks are the very individuals now attempting to discredit him for exposing the truth about the killings.

“Since 2009, more than 50,000 Christians in Nigeria have been murdered, while over 18,000 churches and 2,000 Christian schools have been destroyed.
These are not random acts of violence — they are deliberate decisions made by specific people, in specific places, at specific times,” he told PulseNets, emphasizing that renewed criticism of his stance “only proves that a light is finally being shone on their actions.”

PulseNets reported that Senator Cruz, now serving his third term in the U.S. Senate, made the remarks just days after introducing a new bill aimed at tackling the persecution of Christians in Nigeria.

The proposed legislation, co-sponsored by Republican senators Ted Budd, Pete Ricketts, Josh Hawley, and James Lankford, seeks to strengthen the United States’ response to religious oppression globally, with Nigeria listed as a top concern.

In a joint letter obtained by PulseNets, the senators urged U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and the Donald Trump administration to invoke presidential authority under the Freedom of Religion Act, calling for Nigeria to be redesignated as a “Country of Particular Concern” due to the escalating violence against Christians and other religious minorities.

The letter expressed grave concern over what they described as the Nigerian government’s “failure to curb extremist violence”, warning that continued silence “will embolden perpetrators of faith-based persecution.”

“America must not turn a blind eye when entire communities are being wiped out because of their faith,” Senator Cruz told PulseNets, insisting that “justice and accountability must replace impunity.”
