President Tinubu Meets Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Wednesday held a bilateral meeting with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Rome, at the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Moderna e Contemporanea, as part of efforts to deepen relations between Nigeria and Italy.
Discussions during the meeting focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of trade, investment, and economic development. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding opportunities for mutual growth and strengthening diplomatic relations between the two nations.
The meeting formed part of the president’s engagements at a high-level security summit in Rome, convened to address terrorism, transnational crimes, and regional instability across West Africa and the Mediterranean region.
President Tinubu arrived in Rome on Sunday, October 12, ahead of the summit’s official opening on Tuesday, where he joined other world leaders and regional partners in discussions aimed at building a more secure and prosperous West Africa.
