The GOODIES: Like Obidients, a Goodluck Jonathan Movement Emerges

A new political support movement is reportedly forming around former Nigerian President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, similar in style and enthusiasm to the Obidient Movement that backed Peter Obi during the 2023 elections.

The emerging group known as The GOODIES, short for Goodluck Development and Integrity Supporters, is gaining traction among young Nigerians and loyalists who believe Jonathan’s leadership style and legacy deserve renewed national attention.

According to early promoters of the initiative, The GOODIES Movement aims to rekindle the values of peace, unity, and good governance associated with the former president, while inspiring civic participation and political reawakening ahead of the 2027 elections and amid the rumoured possibility of Jonathan contesting.

Political observers note that this development could reshape discussions within Nigeria’s political landscape, as movements driven by citizens rather than parties continue to redefine public engagement.
